VILLARD -- Alice Marie Nelson, 93, of Glenwood, formerly of Villard, died Monday at Glenwood Retirement Village in Glenwood.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Villard United Methodist Church in Villard. Burial will be at Lake Amelia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the church and for one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Arrangements are with Hoplin Funeral Home in Glenwood. Memorials are preferred to Villard Methodist Church.
She was born Sept. 1, 1912, in Chula, Mo., to George and Josie (Transue) Coberly. The family moved to Villard when she was a young lady. She worked at Peter's Resort.

She married Howard Nelson on Oct. 17, 1938. They managed a resort on Lake Amelia and farmed. They purchased a farm northeast of Villard and farmed until they retired. They spent several winters in Arizona.
She was a member of the birthday club, Homakers, United Methodist Women and Villard Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her sons: Marlo (and Delores) Nelson of Avon, Alan (and Judy) Nelson of St. Cloud, Leonard (and Lucy) Nelson of Sioux City, Iowa; son-in-law: DeWayne (and Dot) Robideaux of Pensacola, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one sister: Georgia Oltgen of Glenwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather: John Callahan; her husband; daughter: Constance Robideaux; one stepgrandson; and two sisters.
