LISBON TOWNSHIP-- Alton Western Isaacs, 78, of Lisbon Township, Yellow Medicine County, died Friday at his home.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bergen Lutheran Church in Stony Run Township, Yellow Medicine County. Burial will be at Bergen Lutheran Cemetery in Stony Run Township.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the Lynner Funeral Home in Clarkfield.
He was born Sept. 12, 1929, in Montevideo to Alvin and Alma (Western) Isaacs. He graduated in 1947 from Clarkfield High School.
He married Rudell Hermanson on Sept. 8, 1951. They farmed in Lisbon Township until 1956. Then he worked as an insurance agent for Farmers Union for 52 years. He retired in 2001.

He served on the Co-op Credit Union Board for 25 years and was treasurer of the Lisbon Township.
He is survived by his wife; children: Annette (and John) Thompson of Spicer, Allan (and Kathy) Isaacs of Clarkfield and Debbie (and Darrell) Landmark of Montevideo; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and siblings: Lyle (and Gail) Isaacs of Covina, Calif., Althea Zethraus of Platteville, Wis., and Andrea (and Ron) Lindstrom of Auburn, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother and two sisters.
