RENVILLE -- Amanda Florence Julia Schochenmaier, 94, of Renville died Wednesday at RenVilla Nursing Home in Renville.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Danube. Burial will be in St. Matthew's North Cemetery in Danube.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg and one hour prior to the service at the church.

She was born Sept. 5, 1913, near Bonesteel, S.D., to Frank and Amanda (Frank) Vetter. She grew up on the family farm and graduated in 1932 from Bonesteel High School.

She married Albert Schochenmaier on Feb. 23, 1938. They farmed near Bonesteel until 1957 when they moved to the Roseland area. They retired from farming in 1976 and moved to Danube. In 1999, they became residents of Fairview Place in Olivia. In 2006, they moved to RenVilla Nursing Home.

She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Danube and was in the ladies aid. She served as a reporter for the Lutheran Women's Missionary Society. She was a member of the Danube Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her children: Joyce (and Dale) Neyhart of Danube, Allen Schochenmaier of Glencoe; and her daughter-in-law: Sherry Schochenmaier of Maple Grove; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister: Frances Penke of Ashland, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her husband in November; a son: Jerald Schochenmaier; and three sisters.
