DASSEL – The Dassel Fire Deparment responded around 9:45 p.m. Monday to Crop Production Services, along the 500 block of Atlantic Avenue East, after a citizen reported that there was an ammonia smell in the area.
According to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, the smell was determined to be coming from an anhydrous ammonia tank that had been drained earlier in the day and left with the vapor valve open.
The change in temperature caused the tank to start venting, therefore causing the odor.
