Anderson receives Eagle Scout award

SPICER -- Nicholas Anderson received his Eagle Scout award Aug. 20 at the Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center, rural Spicer.

The Eagle Scout rank is the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts. To earn it, the scout must earn 21 merit badges and plan, develop and give leadership to others in a service project that is beneficial to the community, church or school.

Anderson planned and directed the construction and placement of a nineby-six-foot informational kiosk which will be used for posters on the activities offered at the environmental learning center.

He is a member of New London Troop 228 and has served as senior patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, guide, quartermaster and patrol leader.

He is the son of Jim and Karen Anderson of Pennock.
