GLENWOOD -- Andrew Peter Roering, 71, of Glenwood died Thursday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in St. Cloud.

The service will be at 11 a.m. today at Church of the Sacred Heart in Glenwood. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Hoplin Funeral Home in Glenwood.

He was born Sept. 18, 1934, in Greenwald to Albert and Elizabeth (Beckerman) Roering. He grew up near New Munich and graduated from high school there. He attended the University of Notre Dame Seminary for two years and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. He worked for Montgomery Wards and Minnesota Fire in the Twin Cities for 14 years.

He married Margaret Morgel on Oct. 28, 1958, in Holdingford. They lived in Coon Rapids for 15 years. They lived in Albany for six months and then moved to Glenwood in 1973.

He was a member of the Church of the Sacred Heart, Knights of Columbus, Steven Ministries, and Befrienders.

He is survived by his wife; children: Deb Armstrong of Glenwood, Duane (and Lynn) of Anchorage, Alaska, Tim (and Kim) of Oakdale, Patty (and Ahren) Ludwig of Baxter, Thomas of Cosmos; nine grandchildren; and siblings: Mary Jane (and Jack) Bohnen of Blaine, Virgil (and Jenny) Roering of Richmond, and Leander (and Betty) Roering of St. Joseph.

He was preceded in death by one son-in-law: Joel Armstrong; and nine siblings.
