Apple Valley woman in Sunday crash near Watson

WATSON -- A 57-year-old Apple Valley woman died as a result of a two-vehicle crash around 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 59/State Highway 7 and County Road 13 north of Watson.

WATSON -- A 57-year-old Apple Valley woman died as a result of a two-vehicle crash around 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 59/State Highway 7 and County Road 13 north of Watson.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Gloria Kahler was dead at the scene. A passenger, Jose Carrionn, 45, of Apple Valley, was airlifted from the scene to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale with head, neck and internal injuries.

The patrol says the vehicle driven by Kahler, a 2001 Chevy pickup, went through the stop sign at the intersection and struck a 2003 Dodge pickup that was northbound on the highway.

The driver of the Dodge, Douglas J. Tomschin, 54, of Clinton, was taken to Montevideo Hospital for treatment of broken bones. His passenger, Amanda L. Tomschin, 49, of Clinton, was also taken to Montevideo Hospital and treated and released.
