GRANITE FALLS -- Arden E. Olson, 80, of Granite Falls died Tuesday at the Granite Falls Manor after a battle with cancer.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Burial will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
He was born Sept. 9, 1925, in Lisbon Township, Yellow Medicine County, to Bert and Alma (Holtan) Olson. He graduated from Granite Falls High School.

He married Eunice Beyer on Oct. 13, 1946, in Granite Falls. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for the City of Granite Falls, at the electric production and water plant, for 37 years.
He was a member of the Granite Falls Lutheran Church, the Granite Falls Fire Department, VFW, American Legion, Sons of Norway and volunteered with Boy Scout Troop 291 and Cub Scout Pack 291 in Granite Falls. He received the Silver Beaver award from the Viking Council in 1990. He served on the Granite Falls Utilities Commission for over 20 years.
He is survived by his son: Mark (and Marde) Olson of Edina; one granddaughter; and siblings: Kermit (and Donna) Olson of Granite Falls, Helen (and Robert) Lerohl of Sacred Heart and Beverly (and Ray) Frankenfield of Minnetonka.
He was preceded in death by his wife; one brother and one sister.
