Sixteen of 20 area girls basketball teams are scheduled to be on the court tonight to start the new season.
Section 5A runner-up Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa starts the year at Sauk Centre in a non-conference clash and Section 5AA runner-up New London-Spicer visits Norwood Young America.
Games pitting area teams tonight include Benson at Minnewaska, Hancock at Central Minnesota Chrisitan, MACCRAY at Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta and Renville County West at Lac qui Parle Valley.
