WILLMAR -- An 18-year-old Willmar man is facing kidnapping and sexual assault charges for kidnapping a woman who had an order for protection against him.
According to Willmar Police Chief Jim Kulset, Chad Michael Ridner, 18, allegedly kidnapped the woman while she was on a work break in Willmar early Monday.
Ridner allegedly abducted her with a knife, or sharp edged object, Kulset said.
Willmar Police were called just after 4 a.m. by the woman's employer saying she had not returned to work. Police were later contacted by the woman's family, who said that she'd contacted them from a phone at a business near Redwood Falls.
She told them she'd been abducted by knifepoint by a man she knew and against whom she has an order for protection.

She was threatened and sexually assaulted by the man while being taken from Willmar to Redwood Falls.
She was able to escape from the man with the assistance of employees at the Redwood Falls area business.
Law enforcement in Renville and Redwood Counties assisted in the case.
Ridner was arrested in Willmar late Monday night by the Willmar Police Department.
He is being held in the Kandiyohi County Jail on charges of kidnapping, first- and third-degree criminal sexual conduct, second-degree assault - dangerous weapons, and violating an order for protection.
Ridner is expected to be arraigned this morning in Kandiyohi County District Court.
"Obviously a very serious crime and very serious matter," Kulset said. But he wanted to make clear to the public that this was "not a random person running around abducting people."
