WABASSO -- Benson/Hancock racked up 36 hits and had three players hit .600-or-better Saturday en route to going 3-0 to win the Wabasso Invite.

The Brave/Owls opened with a 5-3 win over Wabasso before upending DeLaSalle 11-1 in five innings. Benson/Hancock then beat St. Peter 6-3 in the title game.

The Brave/Owls (5-1) gave up only six runs in the tournament as Katie Razink spun all 19 innings to pick up three wins.

Emily Jensen went 7-for-11,, Jenny Flaten 6-for-10 and Sarah Ahrndt 5-for-8 to ignite the offense for Benson/Hancock.

Jensen led off the bottom of the first inning in the title game with a home run before Ashley Lindahl doubled in Flaten and Courtney Frank scored the eventual winning run on Ahrndt's single.

Montevideo 3-0 at LQPV Invitational

MADISON - Montevideo's Betsy Zacharias pitched a six-hit shutout against Lac qui Parle Valley to cap a 3-0 day for the Thunder Hawks in the Lac qui Parle Valley Round-Robin Tournament.

Gretchen Allison had seven hits, including four doubles, and drove in seven runs for Montevideo. Kaylee Johnson had six hits and four RBI. Wendy Macziewski notched four hits, including a home runs, and knocked in five runs. Betsy Zacharias won two games and Amy Johnson the other.

MACCRAY went 2-1, including a forfeit over Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley, and LQPV 1-2.
