MONTEVIDEO -- Arlene Corrine Skogrand, 84, of Montevideo died Wednesday at Meeker County Memorial Hospital in Litchfield.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held this afternoon and evening, with the family from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

She was born March 18, 1921, in Austin to Frederick and Lilly (Spenger) Mischke. As a child she moved with her family to Montevideo. She graduated from Montevideo High School in 1940. She attended business school in Mankato for a year.

She married Clifford Skogrand on Feb. 24, 1946, in Montevideo. They lived in Montevideo. She was a homemaker and worked at Montevideo High School for a number of years. She had been a resident of the Emmanuel Home in Litchfield for 10 days before entering the hospital.

She was a den mother and Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was a member and past president of the VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by four children: Ronnie (and Sherry) Skogrand of Apple Valley, Jeanne (and Terry) Peterson of Litchfield, William "Bill" (and Carol) Skogrand of Boise, Idaho, and Daniel (and Connie) Skogrand of Boise; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993.
