WILLMAR -- Arlene M. Arnzen, 79, of Willmar died Tuesday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Willmar. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar, with parish prayers at 6:30 p.m., and prior to the service at the church on Friday. Memorials are preferred to Rice Hospice.
She was born Feb. 5, 1927, in St. Cloud to Louis and Pearl (Joblonski) Louden. She grew up in St. Cloud and graduated from St. Cloud Cathedral High School in 1945. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.

She married Harold Arnzen on May 18, 1949, in St. Cloud. They moved to Willmar. She worked as an administrative assistant at the Willmar Chamber of Commerce and as a bookkeeper and sales lady at Lakeland Nursery.
She was the first woman elected to the Chamber of Commerce board of directors, served on the Kandiyohi County Family Service board, the Willmar Nutrition Site board, the Willmar Golf Club board, was president of the Women's Golf Association, and volunteered with the Red Cross Bloodmobile. She was a member of the Befriender Ministry Program at St. Mary's Church, and a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries.
She is survived by her children: Wayne Arnzen (and Carol Perkins) of Grand Marais, Mary Johnson of Woodland, Wash., Linda (and Steven) Gort of Spicer, Paula McDonald of Lakeland, Fla., Bobbi (and David) Lohn of New London; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982; one sister and two brothers.
