Arlyne E. Bjornberg Oct. 17, 1909 - Dec. 28, 2006 WILLMAR -- Arlyne Evelyn Bjornberg, 97, of Willmar died Thursday at Bethesda Pleasantview Nursing Home in Willmar. The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Willmar.

WILLMAR -- Arlyne Evelyn Bjornberg, 97, of Willmar died Thursday at Bethesda Pleasantview Nursing Home in Willmar.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Willmar.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Memorials are preferred to the organ fund at the United Methodist Church or Rice Hospice.

She was born Oct. 17, 1909, in rural Kandiyohi to Frank and Anna (Norman) Broman. She grew up and attended schools in rural Kandiyohi and later graduated from Atwater High School. She attended nurse's training at Asbury Hospital in Minneapolis and graduated as a registered nurse.

She married Kermit Bjornberg on March 28, 1942, at her home. They lived for three years in Boston where she was the head nurse of the diagnostic center at the New England Medical Center. They returned to Willmar in 1945. She was the director of nursing at Rice Memorial Hospital and later was the head of the pharmaceutical and surgical departments at the Willmar Regional Treatment Center.

She was active in various church women's activities and was a member of the Registered Nurse Club, garden club, Bible study, Home Extension and the Martha Circle.

She is survived by her husband; daughter: Karen (and David) Daugherty of Willmar; daughter-in-law: Linda Bjornberg of Mendota Heights; and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her son: Douglas Bjornberg in 2005; four brothers; and one sister.
