WILLMAR -- Authorities say James Nicholas Dahlager, 26, of Prior Lake, matches the description of the suspect in the July armed robbery of a Willmar convenience store.
Deby's Convenience Store, located at 2300 U.S. Highway 12 E., was robbed around 5:30 p.m. July 29. According to Willmar Police Sgt. John Kappers, the suspect on the store surveillance video matches the physical description of Dahlager.
Dahlager and his wife, Kelsey Je-anne Sch-midt, 18, of South Haven, haven't been charged in Kandiyohi County. As of Thursday afternoon, first-degree aggravated robbery charges had been filed against Dahlager in Meeker County for two armed robberies there, and in McLeod, Hennepin and Benton counties.
Schmidt has been charged with first-degree aggravated robbery in McLeod County.
The robberies occurred between June 8 and Tuesday. Police say the string of 14 robberies occurred across the central part of the state, west to east from Kandiyohi County to Hennepin County and north to south from Benton County to Renville County.

Dahlager, who is also classified by the state as a Level 3 sex offender, appears to have recently moved from Sacred Heart to Prior Lake. According to Tribune archives, he moved to Sacred Heart in November 2006. His sex offender status stems from sexual contact with two juvenile females, ages 3 and 12, according to the Minnesota Department of Corrections.
