HECTOR -- Arne Kivioja, 92, of Hutchinson, formerly of Hector, died Monday at his home.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Swedlanda Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Hector. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
He was born April 10, 1914, in Crosby to Edward and Amanda Kivioja. He graduated from the eighth grade at District 27 country school in Deerwood, and later from Crosby High School. He attended North Central School of Agriculture in Grand Rapids. He returned to his parents' dairy farm and worked. He moved to the Twin Cities in 1944 and worked at an ammunition plant in Rosemount.

He married Evelyn Anderson on Sept. 28, 1946, in rural Hector. They lived in St. Paul and then moved to Martinsburg Township in 1948.
He served on the A.S.C.S. Board in Renville County for eight years, was active in School Board District 113, the DFL, Union Oil Board, and churchmen.
He is survived by his wife; children: Terry (and Sharon) of Coon Rapids, Larry (and Charlotte) of Carrollton, Texas, Becky of Phoenix, Ariz., Merry (and Jim Moeller) of St. Cloud; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one sister: Aune Despot of Bakersfield, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
