Arthur J. Amundson

DAWSON -- Arthur John Amundson, 92, died Sunday at Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson Memorial Home Chapel in Dawson. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Boyd.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the Johnson Memorial Home Chapel. Arrangements are with Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson.

He was born July 4, 1913, in St. Paul to Anthony and Alma (Johanson) Amundson. He grew up in St. Paul and moved to Minneapolis at the age of 8.
He married Laura Mae McDonald on March 23, 1942, in Minneapolis. After working a few smaller jobs, he was employed in the shipping and handling department at Honeywell for 34 years. He retired in 1974. Laura died in 1995. He moved to Dawson in 2002 and to Johnson Memorial Home in December.
He is survived by his children: Margaret (and Darwin) Jauert of Luverne, Marie (and Donald) Grundy of Round Rock, Texas, Beverly (and Clark) Bailey of Mora, John Amundson of Brookings, S.D., Ester Amundson of North Minneapolis, Melody Amundson (and David Fondow) of Dawson, James Amundson of Dawson and Linda Amundson of Dawson; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister: Helen Turner of Aberdeen, Miss.
He was preceded in death by his wife and 14 siblings.
