MONTEVIDEO -- Arvid Sylvester Kvanli, 87, of Montevideo died Tuesday at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Montevideo, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
He was born Aug. 24, 1919, in Lambert, Mont., to Alex and Tina (Lindevig) Kvanli. He attended country school through the eighth grade in Chippewa County.

He married Vera Angrimson on Sept. 24, 1938, in Watson. They lived in Montevideo. He owned and operated the Park Hotel in Montevideo.
He is survived by his wife; children: Joan (and Richard) Sargent of Mountain Lake, Lee (and Marilyn) Kvanli of Montevideo, Brian Kvanli of Albuquerque, N.M., Cheryl Knutson of Granite Falls; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter; two brothers and one sister.
