Leah Ashburn, the area's all-time kill leader, has verbally committed to play volleyball for the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs in Marshall.

Ashburn, a 5-9 senior for the Buffalo Lake-Hector Mustangs, is one of only two players from the area to ever record over 500 kills in a season. She recently broke the area kill record formerly held by Amber Howard of MACCRAY.

SMSU, coached by Terry Culhane, is ranked No. 24 in Division II.
