Leah Ashburn, a sophomore from Hector, had 14 kills in 21 errorless attacks as Southwest Minnesota State defeated the University of Mary 30-19, 30-22, 30-20 in the quarterfinals of the NSIC volleyball tournament Tuesday night in Marshall.
The Mustangs (25-6) will now face Wayne State at 5 p.m. Friday in St. Paul in the semifinals.
For the season, Ashburn is second on the team with 335 kills, second in kill percentage at .330 and leads the Mustangs with 136 total blocks.
