ATWATER - An ATV driver sustained minor injuries in a crash Saturday afternoon southwest of Atwater.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office said the crash was reported at 5:48 p.m. on First Avenue East in Gennessee Township. The ATV apparently was southbound in the 17000 block of First Avenue when it struck a cable that was lying across part of the road. The cable was being used by farmers to pull a semi out of a muddy field, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The ATV driver, Linae Gorman, 44, of Atwater, was ejected from the 2006 Arctic Cat ATV, sustaining minor injuries. She reportedly was not wearing a helmet.
Gorman was taken by Atwater Ambulance to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar for treatment of her injuries. Sheriff's deputies and ambulance personnel were assisted at the scene by the Atwater Police Department.
