WILLMAR -- The Atwater Fire Department has been awarded a $92,644 federal grant to purchase 25 self contained breathing apparatus for the department's firefighters.
The grant award was announced Friday by Sen. Norm Coleman and is from the federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant program. The city was notified in November that it was receiving the grant. The city must contribute $4,876 to the equipment purchase.
