MARSHALL - Avera Marshall and Carris Health have signed a letter of intent to integrate the Carris Health clinic and same-day surgery center in Marshall into Avera Marshall.
The announcement was made Monday.
The two entities have been talking for some time about ways to integrate the delivery of health care services in the community.
The letter of intent outlines a number of details to be finalized before the integration can occur. The anticipated completion date is Jan. 1.
Carris Health has had a presence in Marshall for several years. Its medical clinic there was known as ACMC Marshall until Jan. 1 of this year, when Affiliated Community Medical Centers became part of Carris Health, a new regional health care entity operating with Rice Memorial Hospital as a subsidiary of CentraCare Health.
