MOORHEAD - Bail is set at $1 million for a Fargo man accused with his 16-year-old brother of killing a Moorhead man on Oct. 17.

Anthony Rodriguez, 20, made his initial appearance today in Clay County District Court on second-degree murder charges in the death of 55-year-old Bradley Carrington.

Rodriguez's younger brother, Zachary St. Claire, 16, allegedly confessed to police he beat Carrington to death after years of sexual abuse at the hand of the older man. He then recanted, court documents say, telling police he took the fall for his older brother, who killed Carrington over the molestation accusations.

St. Claire is charged with first-degree murder in the case.

Rodriguez's attorney asked the judge to set bail at $600,000, saying Rodriguez has strong ties to the Fargo-Moorhead community.

But Judge Michael Fritz set it at the higher amount, pointing out that Rodriguez, who was wanted by police for several days after the killing, could be a flight risk.
