PAYNESVILLE -- Barbara Jean Johnson, 77, of Paynesville died Tuesday at her home as a result of pancreatic cancer.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Paynesville Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Old Eden Lake Cemetery in rural Eden Valley.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Paynesville and one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was born Feb. 22, 1931, north of Eden Valley, to John and Blanche (Mills) Coulter. She attended country school through fifth grade. She graduated in 1948 from Eden Valley Public School.
She married Robert D. Johnson on Nov. 10, 1951, in Hector. They lived in Hector for 34 years. They moved to Lake Koronis near Paynesville in 1985. In July 2007, they moved to Paynesville.

She was a member of the Eden Valley Church of God where she was a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent and a choir member. She served the Minnesota State Conference of the Churches of God as treasurer for 14 years. She also served as president of the Old Eden Lake Cemetery Association.
She is survived by her husband; children: Brad Johnson of Sartell, Rodd (and Pam) Johnson of Chaska and Jennifer (and John) Nordberg of Brooklyn Center; four grandchildren; and a brother: Jim (and Nancy) Coulter of Isanti.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, including one in infancy, and a brother.
