HOLLOWAY -- The Swift County Sheriff's Office is investigating the apparent shooting of a yearling Hereford beef calf by a deer hunter. The animal was not killed, but suffered a wound in its rear quarters, according to Sheriff Scott Mattison.

The incident happened in a field in Fairfield Township, north of Holloway, southeast of U.S. Highway 59 and County Road 20. The animal was likely shot near sundown on Saturday evening. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 320-843-3133 or 320-289-2356.
