LAKEVILLE, Minn. (AP) -- Authorities investigating a fatal crash on Interstate 35 in Lakeville are being hampered by bees that were released in the wreck.
Minnesota State Patrol spokesman Lt. Eric Roeske says one person is confirmed dead, while one person was airlifted to a hospital. That victim's condition was not immediately available.
Two semis and two passenger cars were involved in the crash about 11:30 a.m. today, including a semi hauling bees. Roeske says crews are using a fire hose to keep the bees at bay until another means to control or remove them is found.
Northbound Interstate 35 remained closed between County Road 2 and Highway 70 at midafternoon, and Roeske says it's unclear how long it will stay closed. A southbound lane that had been closed is now open and Roeske says traffic is moving well.
