A survey by the Mid-Minnesota Development Commission, conducted in 2004, found significant benefits to establishing a multicultural market in Willmar.

A multicultural marketplace could:

- Help retain dollars that would

otherwise be spent somewhere

else.

- Help attract customers and

tourists from out of town. This

could also produce a ripple effect

on other local businesses.

- Enhance the local economy as

a whole.

- Create job opportunities.

- Diversify the local economy.

- Create economic opportunity

for Willmar's increasingly diverse

population.

- Provide an outlet for locally

manufactured ethnic products.
