COLD SPRING - A Belgrade man was injured in a one-vehicle accident Thursday morning after his vehicle went off the road and struck the boulders holding the welcome to Cold Spring sign.

According to the State Patrol, the accident happened at 9:15 a.m. on state Highway 23, just east of Chapel Road in Wakefield Township when a westbound 2009 Chevy Silverado, driven by Brian Hagen, 53, of Belgrade, went into the ditch, struck a power pole and then the granite boulders.

Road conditions were wet at the time.

Hagen was taken to CentraCare Hospital in St. Cloud with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Department and Cold Spring Police assisted at the scene of the accident.
