BENSON -- The Benson School Board will interview three finalists for the district's superintendent position starting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Benson High School Library.
John Kraker, superintendent at Minneota Public Schools, will be interviewed at 9 a.m. Lee Westrum, high school principal at Benson, will be interviewed at 10:30 a.m. and Scott Monson, superintendent at Morris Area Public Schools, will be interviewed at 12:45 p.m.
The board will then decide the next step, which may be second interviews or visits to the candidates' current schools, according to Shelly Johnson, interim superintendent.
The goal is to have a contract offered to the new superintendent by the end of February. He or she would begin work for the district on July 1.
Johnson is serving as interim superintendent until June 30. The district is seeking a permanent superintendent after Carl Remmers resigned to become the superintendent of the Cass Lake-Bena School District on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation.
