MONTEVIDEO -- Benson took five out of seven tennis championships Saturday during the West Central South Individual Tournament.
No. 1 singles went to Madeline Gail of Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd, who improved to 23-0 with a 6-4, 6-0 win against Jill Hagestuen of Benson. Haley Bennett-Rachel Crowley of Yellow Medicine East won No. 1 doubles edging Jessica Pillatzke-Melanie Knutson 6-2, 6-3 in the final.
Benson won all the rest: Mackenzie Weber at 2-singles, Abby Fragodt at 3-singles, Kaytlyn Haugen at 4-singles, Carrilee Cluever-Ashley Rode at 2-doubles and Lauren Alsaker-Chelsey Goff at 3-doubles.
Weber handed Melanie Gail of LQPV/DB her first defeat in 23 matches in the final.
