LITCHFIELD -- Bertha Esther Koch, 94, of Litchfield, formerly of Cosmos, died Tuesday at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos. Burial will be at Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home in Hector.
She was born Jan. 16, 1912, in Cosmos Township, Meeker County, to Henry and Bertha (Dorn) Koch Sr. She grew up on a farm south of Cosmos, attended grade school at District 89-P3 in Cosmos, high school at St. Paul Luther Academy, and the School of Agriculture, St. Paul campus. She worked at First Grand Avenue State Bank in St. Paul and at First State Bank in Cosmos.

She was the memorial chairman of the Meeker County unit of the American Cancer Society, the Cosmos unit of the Meeker County Hospital Auxiliary, and treasurer of the Senior Citizens Club in Cosmos. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos where she taught Sunday school and Junior Mission Band, and belonged to Luther League. She was active with W.E.L.C.A., and was treasurer.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
