STARBUCK -- Bertha Minnie Stredde, 83, of Starbuck died Friday at the Bethany Home in Alexandria.
The service was Sunday at the Starbuck Funeral Home. Burial will be at 2 p.m. today in Bridgewater, S.D.
She was born Nov. 11, 1922, in Bridgewater, S.D., to Fredrich and Ulinka (Martens) Stredde. She grew up in South Dakota and received her education at a country school. In the mid-1940s, she moved to California, where she worked in a grocery store as a cashier and bookkeeper for more than 50 years. In the fall of 1999, she moved to the Starbuck area.

She is survived by her sisters: Lorinda (and Oliver) Felt of Alexandria, Ruth Stredde of Mitchell, S.D., Dorothy Wolfe of Aurora, Ill., Ella Gossel of Canistota, S.D., Mary Ann (and Orville) Jurgenson of Elburn, Ill., and Ulinka Crippen of Madison, S.D.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
