SPRING PARK -- Betty Ann Nelson, 71, of Spring Park died Sunday, after a battle with cancer.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethlehem Covenant Church south of Minneapolis. Private burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Albin Chapel in Eden Prairie. Memorials are preferred to the Minnehaha Academy Scholarship Fund.
She was born May 24, 1936, in Kandiyohi County to Duane and Eunice McLouth. She grew up in New London, where she attended elementary and high school. In 1954, she graduated from New London High School. In 1956, she graduated from North Park College in Chicago with an associate of arts degree.

She married Craig Nelson on Oct. 27, 1956. They served Covenant churches in Villa Park, Ill., Red Wing, Dearborn, Mich., and Bloomington. She worked in the medical field in Elmhurst, Ill., and in Red Wing. She also worked as a secretarial receptionist at the Quigley Law firm in Edina.
She is survived by her husband; daughter: Cynthia (and William) Meyer of Maryville, Tenn.; a son: Jon (and Beth) of Minneapolis; one grandson; and a brother: Neil (and Sheila) McLouth.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
