MONTEVIDEO -- Betty Jane Agre, 78, of Montevideo, died Friday at her home in Copper Glen.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Visitation will from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

She was born Jan. 11, 1928, in Grant County to Ervin and Bertha (Brutlag) Weckwerth. She attended schools in Herman and Loveland, Colo. before graduating from Montevideo High School in 1945. In 1950 she married Edward Agre Jr. and they farmed in Lac qui Parle County. She worked at Northwestern State Bank for five years and was employed by the Chippewa County Highway Department for 26 years before retiring in 1993. She served as an officer in the Statewide Highway Accountants Association. She had been a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church since 1974 and was active in circle and WELCA and was a Lac qui Parle Conference officer for four years.

She is survived by daughter: Jan (and Dale) Enstad of Montevideo; son: Larry (and Cynthia) Agre of Eden Prairie; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother: Vernon (and Joanne) Weckwerth of St. Paul.
