SHAKOPEE - Doug Toreen, a farmer in Bird Island, and Myron “Mickey” Peterson, a farmer in Sacred Heart, have been inducted into the inaugural class of the Minnesota Corn Growers Association Recruiter Hall of Fame.
Toreen has recruited 1,099 members and Peterson has recruited 999 members to join the Corn Growers Association and advocate on behalf of Minnesota’s corn farmers.
The Minnesota Corn Growers Association created the Recruiter Hall of Fame to recognize high-volume grower-recruiters who work tirelessly at the grassroots level to recruit new members and amplify the voice of Minnesota corn farmers. The inaugural Hall of Fame class has five inductees.
Nominees for the Recruiter Hall of Fame must have recruited more than 300 members and been an active recruiter for at least five years. The association’s Producer Services team selected inductees via secret ballot. Each inductee receives $500 cash, a Hall of Fame jacket and a plaque.
