HECTOR -- An 19-year-old man from rural Bird Island was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in a Thursday evening crash near Hector.
According to the Renville County Sheriff's Office, Austin Blad was driving a vehicle that rolled over around 9:30 p.m. Thursday approximately three-quarters of a mile south of Highway 212 on 485th Street, which is about one mile southeast of Hector.
A passenger, Adam Zamora, 18, of rural Stewart, was also transported by the Hector Ambulance to Renville County Hospital. He was released without injuries.
The Hector Ambulance, Fire and Rescue and Police departments along with the Buffalo Lake Police Department all assisted at the scene. The Renville County Sheriff's Department is investigating the accident.
