Bird Island woman injured in one-vehicle crash Saturday near Bird Island

According to a crash report, Paula Rubi Ramirez, 22, of Bird Island, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

BIRD ISLAND TOWNSHIP — The driver of a one-vehicle crash was injured Saturday in Renville County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol .

According to the crash report, Paula Rubi Ramirez, 22, of Bird Island , suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Ramirez was westbound on Highway 212 near 370th Street in a 2001 Toyota Sequoia when it went off the road and collided with a sign and power pole on 370th Street.

Ramirez was wearing her seat belt, her airbag did not deploy, road conditions were dry and alcohol was not involved, according to the State Patrol.

The Renville County Sheriff's Office, Olivia Police Department and Olivia Ambulance responded to the incident, reported at 11:26 p.m. Saturday.
