MINNEAPOLIS -- Dawson-Boyd took over the game in the second quarter and used five turnovers to defeat Mahnomen 35-20 in the Class A state championship game Friday at the Metrodome.
The Blackjacks finished 14-0 and took home the title in the school's first trip to the state tournament.
"I don't know what to say," Blackjacks running back Esten Weber. "To the be the only team in school history to go out on a win, it's an unbelievable feeling."
