REDWOOD FALLS -- The Minnesota Board of Medical Practice has temporarily suspended Dr. Cory Rossow's license to practice medicine. Rossow, 43, of Morgan, is a family physician who had worked for the Affiliated Community Medical Centers clinic in Redwood Falls.
The action was taken by the board on Dec. 15 and was effective that day, according to Ruth Martinez, complaint review unit supervisor for the board.
The only information available to the public is that the nature of the misconduct relates to "violating a state or federal law which relates to the practice of medicine, or in part regulates the practice of medicine; engaging in unethical conduct; conduct likely to deceive, defraud or harm the public."
Martinez noted that the temporary suspension is not taken very often by the board, but is used when there is a need to remove someone from practicing before the board can complete its full hearing process.
The full hearing process will be initiated within 30 days. That hearing is a closed process, but the outcome is public information, she said.

Dr. Ronald Holmgren, president and chief executive officer of Affiliated Community Medical Centers, said Thursday that Rossow is not employed by the clinic and that his employment ended in early December.
Holmgren said that he was aware of the action by the board and that the matter is not a work-related issue. Holmgren did not elaborate further.
