BIRD ISLAND -- The sole candidate and two write-ins claimed the three open seats Tuesday on the BOLD School Board.
Incumbent Sandra Gay was the only candidate to file and she received 324 votes. Incumbent Jane Youngkrantz did not file for re-election but later decided to run as a write-in candidate. She had 220 votes.
Robert Biekman, another write-in candidate, also won a seat with 267 votes.
There were 389 voters Tuesday, which is 12 percent of the school district's registered voters.
