BIRD ISLAND -- Behind five players that scored in double figures, Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg upended BOLD 79-63 in a non-conference boys basketball game Thursday.
Joey Bauman paced the balanced attack for the Fighting Saints, who shot 48 percent from the field, with 19 points. Taylor Freetly followed with 18, Cole Berget 12, Justin Johnson 11 and Jake Armstrong 10. Berget and Freetly both pulled down seven rebounds while Berget also piled up seven steals.
Reid Neubauer netted a game-high 20 points and handed out seven assists for BOLD with Trent Neisen adding 14 more points. Craig Gartner hooked 11 rebounds to help BOLD outrebound KMS 39-31.

Tramel Barnes erupted for a season-high 30 points -- 22 in the second half -- and Tyler Grey followed with 19 to help Montevideo improve to 23-3. The Class AA sixth-ranked Thunder Hawks shot just below 50 percent from the field and built up a 13-point lead at halftime with the help of Grey's 15 first-half points.
Todd Bergeson added 11 points and Tyler Ray piled up seven rebounds and four blocks.
