GLENWOOD -- A 42-point first half was more than enough for New London-Spicer in a 67-50 win over Minnewaska in West Central North boys basketball action Thursday.
While the Wildcat (3-1, 7-3) offense was putting up the points, the defense shut down the Lakers, holding them to 22 points.
Minnewaska (2-2, 4-5) fared better in the second half, but it was only able to shave three points off NLS' lead.
Wade Powers led three Wildcats in double figures with 16 points. Skylar Wachter followed with 15 points and Jordan Radel had 14.
Jordan Hendricks scored 17 points to pace the Lakers.

Ben Moser of Paynesville led all scorers with 26 points. Colin Spooner and Cory Nietfeld added 11 points each. Nathan Nietfeld grabbed nine rebounds.
