BENSON -- Daniel Fragodt scored 36 points as Benson smashed MACCRAY 75-58 Saturday in the championship game of the Case IH Holiday Tournament.
Often creating his own opportunities with takeaways, the tournament MVP canned 13-of-23 field-goal attempts and 10-of-12 free throw chances.
Cory Nietfeld and Nathan Nietfeld combined to score 33 points to propel Paynesville to victory in the third-place game with Hancock.

Fragodt had 21 of his points by halftime as the Braves (5-0) bounded to a 36-23 lead. The second half was played nearly even, but the Wolverines were unable to make up ground.
Zach Thissen hit three 3-pointers to finish with 18 points for MACCRAY. Matt Leese followed with 11 points and Justin Tammen had eight boards.
For Benson, Mitch Enderson and Eric Lee added eight points each and Brett Collins seven.

Cory Nietfeld poured in 20 points and Nathan Nietfeld 13 for the Bulldogs, who led 43-21 at halftime.
Ben Moser was also in double figures for the Bulldogs with 14 points.
Hancock's offense struggled, launching 24 fewer shots than Paynesville. Brendan Foss led the Owls with 10 points.
