NEW LONDON -- Todd Herman scored 31 points to lead New London-Spicer to a 70-57 win over Sauk Centre in West Central North boys basketball Friday.
Herman, who also led the team with nine rebounds, scored the Wildcats' first eight points and Brian Pieh followed with the next seven, giving NLS, rated No. 5 in the latest Class AA poll, a 17-10 lead.
After closing the first half with a 35-23 lead, the Wildcats held a 20-point advantage before Sauk Centre chipped it down. NLS remains unbeaten in league play at 10-0, 17-1 overall.
Pieh scored 16 points and had seven rebounds for NLS.
Brent Egan led Sauk Centre (5-5, 7-9) with 23 points.
