KERKHOVEN -- After taking a pounding from Minneota last week, Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg did some cleaning up of its own, beating Lincoln HI/Lake Benson 76-63 in Camden Conference boys basketball action Monday.
The Fighting Saints (4-3, 7-4) collected 41 rebounds and Sam Kavanagh dominated the game, scoring 26 points and pulling down 21 rebounds.
"They didn't have any one who could match up with Sam," said KMS coach Ryan Luft of the 6-foot-5 senior center, who was also 12-of-20 from the field.
Taylor Freetly added 13 points, Cole Berget 12 and Justin Johnson 10 for KMS.

Renville County West (1-5, 2-9) trailed by only four at halftime to the conference co-leaders, but Lakeview (6-1, 9-4) then outscored the Jaguars 35-21 in the second half.
Nate Johannsen had 14 points, nine rebounds and six assists to spark RCW. Brett Jansen added 10 points as the Jaguars shot only 41 percent from the field.
