KERKHOVEN -- Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg held off Lac qui Parle Valley's second-half charge to earn a 62-58 win in non-conference action Friday.

The Fighting Saints (3-1) led by as many as 14 points early in the second half, but the Eagles (0-1) eventually tied the game.

Mark Skoglund of KMS sealed the win with two free throws with 38 seconds left.

Nate Schlagel scored 18 points to lead KMS. Cole Berget added 11 points.

LQPV's Matt Enger scored 22 points, including six 3-pointers.

The Lakers (1-2) made only half of their free throws (19 of 38), but it was more than enough as they held the Owls to just 23 percent (12-of-53) shooting from the field.
