Boys Basketball: MACCRAY steamrolls Canby

CLARA CITY -- MACCRAY held Canby to just 15 points in the second half after owning a slim lead at halftime and got 22 points from Zach Thissen as the Wolverines tripped up Canby 63-35 in the Camden Conference Tuesday.

The Wolverines (4-1, 6-3) led 25-20 at halftime before erupting for 38 points in the second half which saw Canby make just four field goals.

Brock Madsen followed Thissen with 12 points and Justin Koenen chipped in 11 more for MACCRAY, which was just 2-for-4 at the free-throw line. Matt Leese yanked down nine rebounds while Koenen also collected eight assists and seven rebounds.

The Jaguars (1-4, 2-7) fought back from a 15-point deficit in the second half, capped by Tyler Kleinhuizen's three-pointer with a couple of seconds remaining.

Lincoln County turned the ball over on the inbounds pass, but RCW didn't get the shot off in time.

Brent Jansen scored 14 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to pace the Jaguars. Nate Johannsen scored 19 points and Kleinhuizen had 14.
