GRANITE FALLS -- Montevideo wrapped up its West Central South Conference schedule with a 70-63 win over Yellow Medicine East Tuesday.
The Thunder Hawks finished the loop in first place with an 11-1 record, 17-3 overall. Montevideo will face Melrose for the West Central Conference title next Thursday in Melrose.
Tyler Grey scored 19 points to pace Montevideo. Tramel Barnes added 16 points and nine rebounds, and Nolan Jasperson had 10 points and nine boards.
Kenton Johnson scored a game-high 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Sting (5-7, 11-11). Shawn Neu sank four 3-pointers and added 15 points and Luke Berg contributed 10 points and eight rebounds.

The teams tied both at halftime (29) and at the end of regulation (73). In the second half, the Braves (9-3, 16-4) and Eagles (3-9, 10-12) combined for 88 points.
Benson's Daniel Fragodt tied the area's highest point total, which he matched earlier in the season, with 38 points. His brother, Joey, added 24 points. Daniel also grabbed 11 rebounds and had six steals. Joey dished out eight assists and Tyler Guest recorded 12 points.
Brady VanderVelde tallied 25 points for LQPV. R.J. Strand followed with 18 points and Randyn Funderburg had 11. Andrew Schmidt pulled down nine boards.
