MONTEVIDEO -- Montevideo connected on 10-of-13 shots from three-point range, including six by Jon Altena, and defeated Melrose 81-69 in the West Central Inter-Conference Playoff Thursday night.
Altena finished with a team-high 25 points for the South Conference champion Thunder Hawks (20-3). Tyler Grey added 17 points and Tramel Barnes 13. Nolan Jasperson pulled down 10 rebounds.
For Melrose (20-4), the North champions, Matt Moorman poured in 27 points.

Derek Stanger added 21 points and Ben Moser 17 for the Bulldogs.
